EP.43 - But God (Part 1)

On this episode, Kyle and Tom invite one of our newer members at LWBC and officer in the U.S. Navy Pete Madson to share with us his testimony. 

As we sat with Pete and listened to how God just continually showed up o his life, the recurring phrase we found to be was "But God...". We believe this resonates with most Christians who have been busy serving the Lord, we know it resonated with us. We had a plan... but God. We were expecting this... but God. We were defeated... but God.

Two of the greatest pairings of words in the English language are without a doubt: But God. 

EP.42 - They did what??

On this episode, Kyle and Tom discuss the recent position reversal of the United Methodist Church.

Should individuals identifying as members of the LGBTQ community be ordained to preach the gospel? Should they be received as church members? Is there a biblical rebuttal or affirmation of these positions?

Have they gotten into the Communion wine over at the UMC? Or is this reversal of conviction the result of a gradual slip that started long ago?

EP.41 - Medical miracle and Responsibility

On this episode, Kyle and Tom are joined by Andrew Coats as they discuss recent rulings in the state of Alabama concerning embryos created via IVF. 

IVF is a process that has allowed many couples desiring to be parents to fulfill that desire. The technology and science behind it is spectacular. 

So the question: are we approaching it with the right care? Are we taking it as seriously as it deserves with the right regards to responsibility and accountability?

EP.40 - Protecting Life with Love and Compassion

On this episode, Kyle and Tom are joined by LWBC youth pastor Ryan Reeves to discuss the topic of abortion and how we as Christians should approach this subject, specifically in regards to how we deal with those who have had abortions, those considering it, and why our society has normalized this atrocity. As Christians we believe that life begins at conception and that all life should be protected as an image bearer of God.

But how can we approach these topics in love and with grace? How do we impact our neighborhood, our communities and be a beacon of hope and godly change that we really need in our culture? How can we show the love of Christ as we are presented with opportunity to defend - or even debate - what we perceive as a biblical truth?

How do we share the gospel with those that are in need of forgiveness and reconciliation?

EP.39 - College Prep: Ready or not?

On this episode, Kyle and Tom welcome guest Gracie Johnson to discuss the challenges of being a Christian in the college world.

Statistics show that 50%-80% of professing Christian young adults abandon their faith during their time at institutions of higher education. How as Christians can we set our students up for success, not just to endure and strengthen our faith in college, but to be salt and light to world so in need? How can parents help their children and how can the young adults add to the foundation provided as they prepare to go to what could itself be considered a mission-field?

EP.38 - God or an Image?

On this episode, Kyle and Tom discuss the 2nd commandment - Thou shalt not make any graven image.

Is this a repeat or furtherance of the first commandment? Is it a standalone? What does it mean?

We have a habit of trying to fit God in a box of our own design, and in doing so we often make a "graven image" of what we think he's like. Tune in as we try to adjust our thinking on this topic.

While this was preached at a men's conference, the truths provided on prayer are applicable across all demographics.

Apologetics aren't just about defending our views and beliefs, we need a plan, we need tactics. Gregory Koukl does a great job of presenting some valid options for how we can more effectively share Jesus with the people we meet and the people we know.
